Are you doing JanNoWriMo? And if not why not?? I know you write sometimes (or used to try)!!

Nah, I'm being pulled in too many directions to dedicate a fixed amount of time to writing every day. I actually did have some ideas earlier in the month, but I feel my writing tends to be a bit too personal...and that would ruin the whole vagueness thing. :)

My own 'writing' goal was to actually write a song complete with all parts myself but I am running into the roadblock of not being able to find a good multi-track audio editor. I "wrote" a little 45 second one over christmas that is 100% retarded...but that I will post at some point. Unfortunately that was done using software I no longer have access to. :'(

Would you like Sonar? And a Sonar recording lesson? This is something that could easily be done in-between Secret of Mana. ;)

Actually, I needed the name of a program more than anything. I had about 10 minutes to play with sonar last night, and it seems to make sense although it may be a little much for my computer to handle. :( So do I need a lesson, we'll see.

(Our list of shit to do keeps getting bigger...)

Cakewalk SONAR is pretty much overkill for anything I know how to on it, but it also does a very nice job of recording things. My brother's really good at it; I can mostly make a track-by-track demo or record us playing live and stuff like that.

That's really all I want to do with it too, maybe add some software instruments like some strings (for class) and a drum track just to hold things together.

I can record directly from my pedal, which is sweet so that makes life much easier.

[identity profile] first-seventhe.livejournal.com 2009-01-13 02:47 pm (UTC)(link)
It has MIDI capability, I know that much. There are also some plugins / addons that you can use for electronic drum tracks that I know exist but don't really know how to use?

[identity profile] hilldo.livejournal.com 2009-01-13 02:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I have a (really old!) midi keyboard too, I should find a way to get it hooked up. Thus begins the never ending spiral of time and money wasting. :)

I may not own any furniture, but I'll have a room full of instruments. heh.

Hey, have you seen our basement?? XD We're lucky Jeff got all that furniture from his dad!

[identity profile] hilldo.livejournal.com 2009-01-13 03:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah I love the basement! That's almost exactly what I wanted when I was looking for a place (except completely underground for noise reduction). Maybe in the next place...you know...the one that comes with a hot chick and a cool dog. heh.

[identity profile] first-seventhe.livejournal.com 2009-01-13 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)
A cool dog would be a pretty good addition to your house, I won't lie.

[identity profile] hilldo.livejournal.com 2009-01-13 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not around enough otherwise I'd get one. I've always wanted one.

[identity profile] hilldo.livejournal.com 2009-01-13 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Eh I don't really have a set size in mind. I have certain breeds that I love (beagles! boston terriers, huskies) but really I'd just have to find a dog that I like through a shelter. heh.

This is not to say that I wouldn't want a cat instead, but I find it more likely that a cat would hate me (like yours does...save the pee remarks heh) then a dog.

[identity profile] first-seventhe.livejournal.com 2009-01-13 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Almost any cat you adopt from a shelter would love you just for saving it. I think my cat only hates you because every time you come over we make loud obnoxious noises (interpret that as you will). Maybe if you came over to hang out more... then again, you have the better TV!

Beagles and huskies are awesome. Although I agree, once you know how many dogs are out there looking for a good home it's hard to pass up a shelter dog.
