As a life-long fatty, I've spent a huge chunk of my life wanting to be like the cool kids but not being able to fit the clothes. As a result, I oscillate between FUCK Y'ALL I DON'T NEED YOUR FASHION STANDARDS and SNEAKING INTO THE TRENDY STORES TO SEE IF I CAN FIT ANYTHING. I'm also super frustrated because I've got a plus-sized belly and limbs many sizes smaller, so anything that covers my stomach is way too big everywhere else. And the current trend of paper-thin blouses and t-shirts does me no favours!
The result is a random wardrobe. I actually fit into feminine slacks and wrap blouses quite easily, but I wore black slacks all through high school because it was pre-stretchy denim and I feel so frumpy wearing business casual! I never had a North Face jacket, Ugg boots and yoga pants basic white girl phase or whatever young trendy women do and I feel like I need to get through that phase before I get to career woman.
