q&a... no... t&a... no, q&a

Alright, two quick questions from the land of the retarded hobo:

(1) If my brother was looking to get a domain name and some webspace, what hosts would you suggest for him? Keep in mind my brother is AWESOME.

(2) Are there any tricks for organizing a shit-ton of unrelated mp3s in iTunes? Or do I really have to sort them all by hand into new "Artist" folders in my Music folder and then load the folder as a new library? How the fuck do people organize (stolen) music?? Tips? Advice? Continue banging head into the concrete wall that is iTunes?

1. See Jana's list of tags for this answer.
LOLOLOLOL I'M A RETARD AND I THOUGHT YOU WERE ASKING FOR SUGGESTIONS FOR DOMAIN NAMES AND NOT LIKE, ACTUAL HOSTS, HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH. DON'T MIND ME.

THOUGH HE SHOULD STILL LOOK AT JANA'S LIST OF TAGS FOR IDEAS FOR DOMAIN NAMES IF HE HASN'T PICKED ONE YET XD

2. NOOOOOO. Just load everything into iTunes, or I think you can have it search your computer for music, and it will put it into folders on its own! Unless the files don't actually have the data in them containing the song/artist info. However, if that's the case, you can try selecting the songs (and you can select more than one at a time) in iTunes once they've been loaded up, and I dunno it's either by right-clicking or going under "advanced", you can select something like "get track info" or "get song info" or "get track names" or SOMETHING and it will try to find it based on... I dunno. The internet. Microchips. Zeromus. IT'S KINDA SMART.

Are you asking this not having opened up iTunes yet, or have you uploaded all your music and like none of the info is there or something?

P.S. I dunno about PCs, but with my Mac whenever I upload music onto iTunes, it puts copies of the files into their own lil' organized iTunes folder in my Music folder, and then I have 2 copies of everything so I have to delete the outside-of-the-iTunes-folder copy so that all my music isn't taking up double the space it should on my computer 6_6

3. I was inspired by your icon to make this icon.

For the webhost question: I LOVE No Monthly Fees!
http://nomonthlyfees.com/

I've had my website hosted with them for about...oh, 10 years now. Basically it's what the name says - no monthly fees! You pay hosting on a yearly basis, so it seems really expensive upfront but it saves you hassle in the long run. They have really awesome customer service and little to no downtime.

I guess the only downside is that you have to cough up a chunk of money at the beginning and then yearly at the same time.

As a note, their website may seem a little skeazy at first - but they are totally legit and I recommend them to everyone I know cause I love them XD I've always wondered why they've never redone their website, cause I can totally see it scaring away potential customers. Oh well!

I use Dreamhost, and I love them. If you pay for two years in advance, they're really cheap, you get tons of storage and flexibility, they deal with domain registry for you (also cheaply), and they have excellent customer service. Highly, highly recommended. http://www.dreamhost.com/

I also echo Dreamhost.

I'm liking Crucial Paradigm so far. The account was created and the files from my old host were moved over quickly and without any problems. The 90% off the first month is a pretty good deal too.

Holdfire isn't bad for shared accounts, and rather inexpensive. Not the best for resellers though.

Siteground isn't bad as far as hosts go; I've been with them for about 4 years now. They're relatively cheap I suppose; I generally pay about $80 a year (technically $5.95 a month). I know there are other hosts that offer nice plans for less than that.

But that plan is nice, srsly. You get a friggin ridonkulous 750 gigabytes of space and 7.5 terabytes of bandwidth each month with that. Plus the requisite one free domain, unlimited e-mail accounts and all that jazz, SiteBuilder (for people that don't know how to code in HTML cause they suck), the good applications like cPanel and phpMyAdmin, something like 7 different type of stat trackers, etc etc.

I love Lunarpages.com and have hosted RPG Place there for quite some time :)
