Oh, for crying out loud, people.

Did you catch the name of the books? Harry Potter and the ____?

Yeah, that's right.

Sadly, that means that there's no time to worship and mourn Snape, Severus-fans. There's no chance to see Tonks and Lupin die, R/T shippers. There's no way to watch Ginny do anything exciting, Ginny-lovers/haters/shippers/etc.

Yeah, I felt a little robbed too. I wanted to see Ginny kick ass. I wanted more on Snape. I was very upset to see Tonks and Lupin both go.

BUT IT'S A HARRY POTTER BOOK. IF HARRY WASN'T THERE, THEN WE DON'T GET TO SEE IT.

If I see one more post about "JKR totally disrespected us Snape fans the way she had him die" or "What did JKR think she was doing, killing off Tonks and Lupin" or "How dare JKR kill off one of the twins", I think I'm going to scream.

JKR is writing books about HARRY POTTER. Yes, one of the strengths of her series would be the wonderful characters she creates. Yes, I felt robbed. Yes, I agree - somewhat.

But you're not entitled to a weepy funeral for Severus/Fred/whomever. So please, stop acting like they are. Because the books aren't about those other characters.

SHEESH.

I seriously, honestly, truly think that the HP fandom as a whole has ruined this book for itself.

Eh, I read them all at once, because it took me like a weekend to read through them because they are super easy reads. I should have stopped at 4. This fits in with my theory that any series over four books is going to disappoint me. That, and I expect Lewis or Pullman or Lowry out of child fiction and have too high of expectations anyway. It's like when I thought about joining a newspaper and they kept telling me to dumb down my stuff... I forget that the average person in the US has the reading comprehension of a 13 year old.

Not saying you do. XD I mean, you actually finished college. You're ahead of the game.

And FFVII fen have at least a reason to be a little pissed sometimes. It's called retcon. Which is kind of sleazy, imo.

It was one of those things where if you've invested that much time in something, you have to know how it ends. Where by "you" I mean "me". It's why I'm bad with TV because no matter how crappy a show is, if I've started watching it, I want to finish watching it.

And, oh, yes. I consider FFVII-OGC fans to be the real fans, and basically everyone else to be batshit. SO SUE ME.

I used to be like that. Then I ran into Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. And that habit was broken (why oh why did that show suck SO BAD? At least, to me. >.>). Now I have the willpower to stop in the middle of a book. INTENSE.

Understandable. XD Same general feeling. I like bits and pieces, but that's about it. And the pretties.

OBVIOUSLY YOU ARE NOT A REAL FF FAN. Y'KNOW, BECAUSE YOU'VE ONLY PLAYED LIKE 27346823764 FINAL FANTASY GAMES.

At least you're PLAYED the original. Anyone who hasn't should just stay out of fandom! OR start their own fandom. ;)

WEll according to anyone ever who discovered the series after 1997 I am NOT a real FF fan because I can't stand the regurgitated pointless SHIT that is FF7.
