Things are getting unreasonably unreasonable here, and I've had more ideas in the past week than I think I can deal with (damn you both, Rina and Cendri), and thus I want to set out a list of things I am writing, mostly for myself. I put artblogging here, so I figure that ficblogging is JUST AS RELEVANT.

AKA: hilldo should not bother with this post. I swear, pookie, one day I'll post something you're actually interested in reading.

IN PROGRESS

• FFVIII, How Not to Date Blondes. The one with Zell and Quistis patiently waiting to get it on, and Seifer waiting for a real goddamn meal. It's nearing the end, I can say with confidence, but there are still about what, 6? 7? chapters to go, which with Enkida and I probably means that this fic will go on for another year entirely.

• FFIV, Hunter. The one with Kain and the zombies, so far. We're only on Chapter 2. This fic's outline is like 10,000 words or something. Still going!

• FFVIII, The Last Order. The one where Squall screws up a lot and Garden may or may not blow up. (FREE BEER.) irish_ais and I are kind of stalled on this one, but I'm not giving up yet, because I like telling stories without the fairy-tale ending.

MEMES I AM STILL WORKING ON

• "Five Things" Meme. Yes, I'm serious. I am still working on this. I believe I still have rosencrantz, fanaticalone, xahra99, whoisus, bottle_of_shine, and irish_ais and shanaqui again.
  I really need to put limits on these memes, because this is ridiculous. XD I mean -- you guys may not get yours, honestly. I am trying!, because it's a meme and it's what you're supposed to do. But, yeah.


• AU MEME. I have not done this one yet, but I have wanted to do it from the second I saw bottle_of_shine do it. What an awesome idea. But I said to myself, Self, you can't do this one until you finish the "Five Things" Meme. And once you finish it, put a limit on the amount you'll sign up to write from any meme in the future, for crying out loud.

CLAIMS

• FFIV, Rydia for mount_ordeals - I really will not have a problem finishing this claim. At all. I just have to get back into the habit of writing.


• FFVIII, Quistis/Rinoa for fated_children. This claim I still want, but I think I am going to back off on one of the 'challenges' I picked up with the claim - make all pieces link into a longer story. I think the claim would be easier going if I wrote one-shots instead, and saved Blueblack for myself.


• FFX/X2, Rikku for pyre_flies. Again, just need to start writing. No problems with this claim at all.


• FFVIII, Ellone and Edea for over_look. Same.

FFIV: Ongoing ideas

• Rydia-fic ideas. I have a lot of ideas for Rydia-based fic I want to try. I still want to write the one-shot that spawned Hunter, although at this point it will be redundant because Hunter is like 200,000 words on the same basic idea. However, trying to condense it into a one-shot as I'd originally planned will be interesting.


• And since "Edge-bashing" is becoming an FFIV cliche, this only means I must break it. (Sorry, Katy, but I have to write Edge-fic sometimes! XD) This spawned from a discussion with lassarina about Kain, honor, Rydia, and freedom. The basic premise is that Rydia feels "trapped" with Cecil, Rosa, and Kain, and all of their politics and rules and deals of honor; Kain is trying to honor her as his significant other, but he always chooses the realm over her. Whereas Edge is the sort of non-traditional, "fuck you, custom and authority!" ruler who wouldn't expect Rydia to always dress nice and mind her language and not insult people, which in the end might be what Rydia needs. It will be an interesting exploration into characterization, really.


• FFIV HS AU. ENOUGH SAID. This will eventually be a claim between me and katmillia, for notagain_again. There will be fic AND art. It will be amazing. Also, Rosa/Edge!


• FFIV Evil Rosa AU. I am still planning on getting lassarina to play in this 'verse with me.

FFVIII
Okay, this one will have a TON.

• Shore Boys is the tentative name I've given to the fic-verse revolving around Seifer, Zell, and Edea. bottle_of_shine can be thanked for helping me around this, and also can be blamed if it ends up Seifer/Zell like it might. The story is mostly about relationships between mothers and sons, in the context of the FF8-verse and everything that entails. But it's also about healing, and family! And probably snark.


• Gunpowder is the fic-verse that is bottle_of_shine's fault. Irvine and Seifer are off on a mission; each one thinks they're protecting the other. Only Squall knows the truth. And basically Irvine and Seifer have a lot of hot boysex.


• Blueblack is kind of like a crackverse, except that it's my plot-based vehicle to write Quistis/Rinoa girlporn and eventually work my way up to the Squall/Rinoa/Quistis/Seifer OT4 of my dreams. Lots of Sorceress-Knight meta comes into play here, actually. Initially this was to be for my Quistis/Rinoa claim, but the story has become too bogged down.


• Avalon. THE CRACKVERSE. Ellone's story. Eventually, I will write this.

OK, and sadly, this isn't even finished, but I had a horrible day at work and I'm going to post it now before I lose it, and then update more tonight or tomorrow.

p.p.s. You just reminded me of another FF8-verse I have called "Nostalgia" which probably ends up with Squall/Ellone overtones DAMN YOU I HAVE TO ADD ANOTHER ONE TO THE LIST ;)
