Fandom: taking back Valentine's Day since 2008!

So last year bottle_of_shine had a Kissing Battle. The last edition is here (EDITED TO ADD: this is the old battle, not the current one!). It was a lot of fun and might be known around FF-fandom circles as the best Meme ever**.

Pretty much everyone I know is stressed about something, too, so this round of the Kiss Meme Battle honestly couldn't have better timing. (I love you guys) This round is about feeling good, it's about love, and it's also about seeing who can write the most kissy drabbles and ficlets in one week!

This portion of the rules I borrow from Nay, because she explained it well.

Requirements:
  - Kissing. Of any sort, even if it happens to be platonic. Otherwise known as: gen kisses are okay!
  - Put the fandom and pairing in the header of comments with kiss fic! SERIOUSLY. This makes it 300% easier for people to browse (and for me to compile).
Limitations: above the belt (this isn't about porn) and Final Fantasy only (crossovers are cool).

There are many ways to play! Write kisses and post them as comments. Make a list of requests and hope someone will fill them. Write other people's requests and hope they do the same back. (Requests can be filled more than once.) Find other good kisses and squee! EDIT - You can request anonymously, if you want!

This is about love and feeling good and that kind of stuff so people who are stupid about it will get my steel-toes in their ass. WITH LOVE ♥ ♥ ♥

I'm thinking about a week for this, so whoever writes the most kisses in that time wins!

The young bimbo Hojo had picked up down on the beach - Mindy? No, Mandy, she'd said her name was Mandy - looked confused, then apprehensive. He could almost see the thought synapses flickering in her empty little sparrow's brain. What kind of dirty old man is he, anyway? I thought he was kinda cute at first, but ...

"I'm sorry?" she finally said, the bridge of her button nose beginning its upward wrinkle like a busted windowshade. "Like, what do you mean, your head? I don't do dirty stuff on the first date, I just wanted a drink, and even if--"

Hojo rummaged around in the desk's bottom drawer for a moment, spindly fingers searching in the dark like some monstrous albino spider. He gave a little cry of triumph when his fingertips finally brushed against the jar. With something very much like a flourish he raised the glass container aloft, thrusting it in Mandy/Mindy's direction.

She screamed. She continued to scream all the way through the hotel lobby and down Costa Del Sol's main thoroughfare. Hojo watched her from the window, sighed, and gave the jar a gentle peck where the cheek would have been if not for the two layers of plexiglass.

"Guess it's just you and me again tonight, darling."

It was getting hard to tell sometimes.

Her hand snaked around his waist and he guessed it was Jenova at the controls because she tended to move like she was still tentacles in liquid even though she now had bones and skin in a labcoat.

He brought her hand up to his mouth and kissed it. Jenova liked the little chivalrous touches; Lucrecia was too much a feminist to enjoy them.

She brushed her fingers over his lips appreciatively. He had guessed right. He turned to her, smiling into her soft face, and kissed her on the lips.

"Dinner tonight for Valentines?" he asked her.

"I thought you and Lucrecia had plans," she answered.

"I'll skip lunch, then. No reason I can't see you both. It's not as if she minds sharing."

"What in the hell are you doing?"

One of those days, it seemed, he'd broken a shoelace, been unable to find a tie that was not bitten in half or frayed, and on top of that, it was the first week of no caffeine.

Oh, and Hojo was throwing things around the lab. It was kind of the sprinkles to his morning sundae of annoyances.

"It's called entropy, I'm helping it along!"

"I think maybe you should put down that flask." Veld briefly wondered if this qualified as a 'necessary endangerment' and if this gave him an excuse to use force. At least Hojo kind of listened, in the way a seven year old would, dropping the flask and letting it smash all over the floor.

"Don't you see? It's all going to hell ANYWAY..."

"Really, there's no need to go smashing things like some overgrown toddler." He really had no idea what set him off, and it was becoming a little uncomfortable standing there, which was funny considering some people he dealt with on a regular basis that talked to themselves.

"You should help."

"Help with what?"

"DESTRUCTION. ISN'T THAT WHAT YOU WERE HIRED FOR?!"

"Only if I'm ordered to, and no, you don't have that authority at the moment!"

"Fine, if you're going to be that way..."

Veld instinctively backed up when Hojo approached him, but he'd forgotten that wiry people could be fast little shits when they wanted to be. He half expected Hojo was picking a fight, so that while defending himself things would be broken, because that was how fighting happened, but no.

It didn't really register in his mind until the bastard bit his tongue.

"Thucking ell!"

"THERE. NOW GO CRAZY! GO GO CRAZY VELD."

But Veld's particular brand of crazy wasn't the type that could be used predictably. And quite frankly, he was confused. Veld didn't like being confused.

And then he remembered.

"...Hojo, Valentine didn't lose that proposal, he was just being a dick. Whatever the hell it was, I'm sure it hasn't been ignored or turned down."

"..."

Three long breaths.

"Well then, Veld, I do have the authority to make you help clean up."

He rolled his eyes. "I'll send a rookie down, I don't have time for this."

Veld turned to leave.

"Oh Veld?"

"What."

"You kiss like a dead fish. Might want to work on that."
