#1 -- NaNoWriMo 2008! I am seventhe on the NaNo website -- friend me! I need as many buddies as I can to encourage me, as I'm going for "50,000 words in one month" with a -8 day vacation handicap. Get ready to kick my ass, guys.

I actually finally wrote a novel synopsis, too, for anyone interested...

Overflow

Enna was born with a magic too big for her body, and has spent the last few years of her life learning to wrestle it into submission after the uncontrollable outburts, restless days, and sleepless nights drove her partially mad. Life with the dwarves is slow, but peaceful, and learning to heal saps most of the magic Enna can neither handle nor use. With the help of her doctors, the dwarven healers, and Klima, her half-Nightmare friend, Enna is finally learning to live with the magic she once thought a curse.

But Enna's distant cousin Tirana, a mysterious elementalist called to a dangerous pilgrimage, requests the help of Enna and her uncontrollable skills... for a voyage across a war-torn land which has taken the lives of many. The request from family can't be refused, and Enna agrees to do what she can - as little as it may be - to help Tirana and her group of hired guardians cross the dangerous, Nightmare-frought Civil Lands into the empty unknown of the Nolands beyond.

I'm kind of excited about doing this story. I think it'll be a good break from doing other projects -- they do say that you're supposed to start a new project for NaNo to make it easier on yourself, so we'll see if that's true...

#2 - [livejournal.com profile] healthbloggers! Jenny and I are having fun trading links and motivating each other with workouts - come join in!

Last week I ran 5 miles, which was a super exciting milestone for me. I made up for that by skipping Sunday's workout and then totally sucking ass on the treadmill last night. Oh, and even though I've lost weight, I don't appear to be any smaller, so I had a totally superficial little crankyfit last night. It was awesome. And by awesome I mean pretty terrible.

#5 -- Did anybody else watch House last night? WTF was up with that shit?? Thirteen??? OMG???? CAN I USE MORE PUNCTUATION?????

I did! It was hot. It appears that the show is going to be playing up the father-daughter thing with Thirteen and House. But everytime she's on screen, all I can think about is how much she looks like Summer Glau.

The story sounds very fantasy-ish. Exciting! :)

I've gotten more and more excited about it the more I outline it. XD EXCEPT THAT MY OUTLINE IS ONLY LIKE TEN WORDS AND NOVEMBER 01 IS COMING QUICKLY! HALP.

1 - Yay!

2 - Oh, and even though I've lost weight, I don't appear to be any smaller, so I had a totally superficial little crankyfit last night. It was awesome. And by awesome I mean pretty terrible.

Tone =/= weight. And it sucks. I always actually bulk up when I make any effort to get into shape. It also really depends on what you're trying to make smaller. If it's your stomach, that's actually the hardest to specifically lose weight from.

So cheer up, it's not futile. You just may have to shift your focus.

3 - I may have to fill out another one of yours when things stop being crazy. I hate MWF.

4 - Uh, maybe?

... OUTLINE WHAT OUTLINE. I DON'T BELIEVE IN OUTLINES.

Okay I do but so far I haven't even had a day yet where I have managed to leave work on time, let alone get anything else done. :(

OMG, SHE DOES!! I hadn't really thought of it at all, but definitely, esp. during those mirror scenes!

I'm kind of excited to have a "troubled" fellow, especially if it means more hot lesbian action scenes. I liked Thirteen, though, and I don't *really* want anything bad to happen to her...

I WAS SO PROUD! It was actually a lot easier than I'd thought, probably because I didn't try to sprint a lot.

HAHAHA. There is like a big hole in my story where like [Stuff Happens] and I'll probably get there mid-NaNo and totally crap out. XD REQUIRE OUTLINE

I hear you on work too. I've been up in the other building with Dr. Asshat like every day this week omg that is not my job.

#2- - Mostly it's hard to have been working my ass off since January and not look *any* different at all. Jeff and I had these "gut measurements" from January (don't make fun XD - I was actually measuring myself for my Quistis corset and Jeff just measured himself for posterity) and Jeff has lost about 3" from his beer belly and I have lost ... 0.75". And we've been doing pretty much the same workout and he has actually been eating more.

It's just superficial. I realize that I'm way healthier than I was in January, and I'm much better at running (see: 5mi run, which I couldn't have done back then), and scale-wise I've lost weight, and I'm building muscle, but... even saying all that doesn't always make you feel better, y'know?

Ha, ha, I am a girl deep down inside, apparently. XDD

3 -- Today should be a good writing day for me! I HAVE A LOT OF GROUND TO MAKE UP.

You know, rewatching the scene where Cuddy is trying to get Thirteen to take a drug test, the whole dynamic between the three of them screams divorced parents and trouble making daughter.

Also, the aired scene of Thirteen and Spencer's tryst was cut short - I'm pretty sure the longer version is on Youtube somewhere.

Date: 2008-10-22 03:16 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] first-seventhe.livejournal.com
YES. That whole scene made me laugh -- House getting to cockblock Cuddy AND still firing Thirteen.

Did you see the promos for next week? The one certain shot that looks vaguely House/Cuddy? Because that's just what they need, MORE sexual tension! ;)

Date: 2008-10-22 03:20 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] churched.livejournal.com
I did. I am displeased, as I usually am with the Cuddy-wants-a-child storyline. Maybe it's just me being the most anti-child person in existence, but can't she just be happy being a sexy, attractive, brilliant doctor with a whole hospital to take care of? Princeton-Plainsboro should be her child.

That, I don't really 'ship House/Cuddy, either. House/Wilson/Lucas is my OT3.

Date: 2008-10-22 03:41 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] first-seventhe.livejournal.com
I agree. Although based on the rest of the promo it doesn't really look like she'll be getting a baby any time soon...

I wouldn't mind House/Cuddy if I thought they'd be able to stay awesome and snarky. I doubt it, though, so I am full of reservation. Lucas was pretty freaking sweet in this last episode, though!

From: [identity profile] churched.livejournal.com
Lucas is fantastic. If he does get his spin-off, I will be a very happy little monkey.

I love fantasy stories~~~! Point me in the direction of this story when it's finished! :D

(Wow, I cannot fathom writing a novel in a month. I am SLOWY MCSLOW MOLASSES when it comes to writing, hahahaa)

I agree. I giggled the entire time he was on the screen. I also thought the House-vs-Wilson prank plot with the hooker and the syringes was ABSOLUTELY HYSTERICAL, though.

HAH. The whole point of NaNo, I think, is just to write as fast as you can, rather than write as *well* as you can. 50,000 words of absolute crap is a win, while 45,000 words of awesomeness doesn't get you there! Thus, I will be churning out crap, but hopefully it will turn into something awesome despite myself XD

Giving House his own private investigator was a great idea. I want one!

I know, seriously! I could get all the dirt on my own co-workers!!

I actually caught the end of House last night while running...I'm not really into the show, but er, lesbos? The worst thing was, Fringe came on next, and I usually feel a bit nauseated as I reach my running limit. When somebody started bleeding out of their eyeballs and then their head exploded, my nausea level kicked waay up!

Yup, I know the frustration of working your ass off at the gym and not seeing weight/size results. The only way I can lose weight is to restrict caloric intake, which is hard when you're trying to get all your nutrients and of course, enjoy eating. But hey, neither of us is a big fat fatty (a la Queen's Fat Bottomed Girls), so we really shouldn't complain!

From: [identity profile] first-seventhe.livejournal.com
Oh, blech. We'd turned it off at that point, thank goodness!!

Yeah... I'm having double-extra trouble with the caloric-intake thing now, since I'm trying to fix my blood-sugar issue by ... eating more. Yeah. Doesn't really pair up with the cutting-intake thing. >.>

This is definitely on topic, because you have reminded me to post a teaser: there's a new one coming out next week Monday!

From: [identity profile] churched.livejournal.com
YAY! :D I printed off the first part so I'd have something to read in the hospital today. Oddly enough, Memoirs of a Geisha doesn't quite make me feel better while I'm being poked and prodded at.

*sniffle* Wow, I feel so awesome! Chapter 7 can be dedicated to you (and your doctors?)!

Date: 2008-10-22 05:53 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] churched.livejournal.com
You can name some random characters after the doctors, and then have them be killed off in the most undignified way possible. Like electrocuting themselves on a vibrator. XD This is made more difficult, but not impossible, by the fact that I am usually too drugged up to note the names of the doctors I've seen.

Date: 2008-10-22 05:55 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] first-seventhe.livejournal.com
There are a lot of random characters coming up in the next chapter. I will be sure to name one Doctor Something.

From: [identity profile] churched.livejournal.com
:D You're very kind.

Doctor Something has a nice ring to it. Doctor S. Dick Something. The S. stands for small, because I am not above tasteless jokes on my deathbed.
