I can only offer my rusty knowledge of source material. Must haul ass and marathon the rest of the series~!

I do a lot of comfort reading, too. When I'm trying new things, it usually takes me a few tries to get into it. It's usually the case with books. I have to be practically thrown into trying out recs, and forced to swim. My brain like, needs a reason to be focused and invested on what should I be reading, but in all of its ADHD glory is instead distracted by expectations (like... Doctor Who. Or Firefly). I think, the anxiety of failing those fannish expectations kicks in; I do not like the thought of investing myself and revealing to the person who recc'd it to me that I simply do not give a fuck. I don't want it to be a waste of my time!

BTW SHERLOCK IS NOT A WASTE OF MY TIME, I AM TOTALLY DIGGING IT, PLEASE DO NOT THINK OTHERWISE

I'm reading your thoughts on what lady characters are in the adaptation, and can't help but get a little frowny faced. WHAT, WHY CAN'T THERE BE MOAR~ Irene Adler (the Woman) doesn't come back in the stories, only mentioned in passing references, so I don't imagine she'd come back in the show unless the writers found a way. Watson does find a lady a marries her (Mary Morstan), but I don't think she's been introduced in the adaptation (that or Wikipedia is lying to me), and she like, isn't even around for too long. WHAT IS THIS.

There's a disappointing lack of ladies in the Sherlock Holmes world :(

I'm I making any sense? I'm not making sense. of course not. i'm sick and loopy and rambly and a <3

brb picking up where i left off last night
