Mobile Game Monday

here we are - another Monday morning, another bar of stamina, another extended lunch break where Sev writes on DW...

As it turns out, I have until the end of JUNE to finish Torment CMs, which was quite the relief - although I made it all the way up to FFIX Torment in record time. (If anyone needs tips on Torments, I'm happy to help!) I had to rush through the FFVI event, but I managed to clear the realms, the Jump Start, and half of the Multiplayer (by myself) before the event ended, so that suits me just fine.

In terms of deadlines there's a challenge dungeon leaving first, then 3rd Anniv dungeon, then FFXV event, then Crystal Tower. However, I'll probably tackle Crystal Tower earlier, to get the motes. In between that I still have 7-8 Torments left, and I need to grind my 3* Magicite dungeons, to make tackling the 4* ones easier.

I've made some good progress though: I fully legend-dove Orlandeau (I have his USB and it makes him a powerhouse), Yuffie (have her Glint and ASB, plus diving ninjas with double-cast is always a great idea), and Mog (IDGAF, he has been CLUTCH MVP for me in so many fights; plus, his LD2 is chance of medica after dance, which is awesome; PLUS IT IS ADORABLE). Most of those 5* motes came from the Torments I completed. I also honed the water ninja skill to R3 (6 uses), which is only significant because fuck dark and ice orbs - I want to get all the top ninja skills to R3, at least, but then I have to work on knight skills and heavy abilities, not to mention I should make some decisions about a Dark Team and finally work on them.

I am ALSO sitting on like 300 mythril, because I haven't really been tempted by any banners lately AND we have been getting a metric fuckload of myth from various things in the last month. I'm pretty sure there's a fest coming up at the end of June, so I'm trying to save it rather than, say, going in again on the XV banner for realm coverage, because........ reasons?

I was hoping to make this post saying "I beat the giant rat", but I didn't beat the giant rat, although I did get it down to 15% health. My team was Ayaka (heals & esunagas), Roy (breaks & buffs), Cagnazzo (provoke tank), WoL (cover tank, also breaks), and my Fryevia + a friend Fryevia. My Frye is still pretty undergeared, resting at around 500/500 ATK/MAG, but I do have FFB +1 and thought hey fuck it why not. so chaining FFB Frye does a tonnnnnn of damage, it was pretty cool.

I just lost the fight when damage and paralyze just became a bit overwhelming - Ayaka had to spend turns removing paralyze, and when it hit Cag or Roy it worked like a cancel of whatever they were doing, so things started falling apart. I need to look up items for paralyze resist and, possibly, gear to make an evading WoL. I'll try again when I have a chance for a break this afternoon - it could just be RNG. I also have Mystea I could sub in for someone; i think she has some kind of status effect skill.

I'm "finished" grinding the Raid (meaning I got that last 4* ticket) but I'll still run raid orbs when bored to get materials -- I could probably use a couple of those EXP boosting hats for fun or expeditions. When that's done I'll probably go back to story - I want to clear Mysidia finally and keep working for that 100% moogle! - as well as TM farming, and farming Wilhelm's dumb limit break before I awaken him to 6*. Oh, and farming crysts to better awaken Frye -- so much grind!!

Love Nikki I was sort of phoning it in on LN last week; after Memorial Day weekend with nieces and party and family and stepfamily and aaaaaaa well my brain was pretty easily exhausted. This week, I picked some suits to work towards, which means I have to grind through some story so that I can open up some of the levels I need to grind. Ha.

I'd like to have a completely automatic (Finish ASAP button) Stylist's Arena, because I am a lazy ass, so I'm going in to each theme and upping my entry in the hopes of getting them all above about 55K points. That way I can watch my opponent, reset until I'm higher, and the only way I'll lose is if momo lies (MOMO LIES, THO).

otherwise, just plugging along. I have my share of wedding stuff so I'm honestly picking up the background/foreground stuff mostly, haha.

This week went fast. I had hoped to find time to get back into other mobile games, but nope, it was all FFBE again.

I beat the giant rat on my second try, with a team of Nocti s (evasion tank), Timothy (breaks), Garnet (heals & summoning), Lunera (Bard), Minfilia (stop resist & buffs) and a Trance Terra friend. Garnet didn't have to do much healing, thanks to Lunera's song and Minfilia's Protection of the Twelve materia. It went pretty easy.

I also did Siren 3* again so I could get the summon Ramuh achievement, as the first time I did the trial i accidentally killed her too fast with two Olives, oops.

I'm technically done with the raid but still running it for raid rank. I'm at about 8,000 rank, which pleases me.

Last night I finished running Cloud's King Mog event again, so I could get the power giancrysts as I need them for Tidus.

This has left me with nothing to spend energy on, so I've been manually TMR farming today. It's tedious, but it passes the time.I'm working on the ice katana so I can element chain with all the Fryevia friends on my list.

I had some lucky daily pulls this week. Got Veritas of the Dark a few days ago, which completes my collection, and p pulled a second Cloud this morning. I would have preferred a third Elfreeda but Cloud is always welcome.

first, I am jealous of your darklord!! I'm only missing Dark and Light (yeah, the two most useful) and I reallllly want to pull them & run a Veritas party for fun.

I had designed my Giant Ratboy party after one I saw someone post in the FFBE reddit - it's a similar general composition to yours, but I like the idea of bringing Minfilia to the party. Need to think about how I would rearrange.

and i forgot to add: do you have an iPhone or iPad? You can somewhat automate TMR farming using Switch Control - I did it on mine, and it worked great. turns out there are only like 3 or 4 places you need to "tap" to farm Earth Shrine, and Switch Control basically records you doing that and taps for you.

It's likely that other phones have a similar thing, but the only one I have experience with is iPhone :P

I have an iPhone. I do know about Switch Controls, but haven't set it up yet. Right now I'm enjoying the TMR farming manually. I'm a math geek so I keep track of stats while doing it, which makes it more fun. I probably will set up switch controls once I get bored.

haha, i actually have an entire section of my hobobujo dedicated to tracking stuff in my games (don't laugh), including a page where i track all of my overnight TM farming when i do it so that i have all the data. i hear you :P i just can't imagine doing it manually because i would get pretty annoyed pretty fast, haha, but i respect the dedication :P

Officially retired from Age of Ishtaria, though I doubt I will ever be retired from doing 'fic for it (see also: Devil Maker: Tokyo).

Against any sort of good judgment, I pre-registered for Star Ocean: Anamnesis. -_- There is a good chance of this being a car crash (like, say, every Star Ocean after The Second Story), but I am going to try it anyway. It opens in July.

Still waiting to learn more about the Shin Megami Tensei Liberation DX2 mobile game, but that one has yet to happen, too.

In the meantime, had a good run at the Tempest Trials and Voting Gauntlet in FE Heroes, and I am still power leveling in Memoria Freese. Downloaded Girls Frontline, too, though Chinese mobile games have a history of annoying me, usually through a combination of piss-poor translation and badly-explained play mechanics (... and my unwillingness to pay money into the Great Piracy Machine ™).

So I cleared a whole bunch of nightmares - I'm 3/4 of the way around the circle and beating the prereqs for the last 3 so I can magicite, because I'm a failure, oops.

I wrecked Gilgamesh's Gala in Mobius, which I am really pleased about because I got all the way up without needing continues! And three levels into the "no continues no friends" segment! (Then I died but whatever.) Now I'm going back to the Lightning event, where I'm up to sector 8 which I think means almost done.

In BE I'm grinding the raid and inching through S2 story, though today I've been completely distracted from that, lol.

I'm sort of half-assing the event in F/GO, which I think I'm pretty well checked out of at this point, and in DFFOO I'm very much enjoying double drops on crystals.
