This is your happy friendly Sev-ly reminder to get your arse out to vote tomorrow.

I'd love to say that it's because voting is a personal duty and right, and no matter what your views, everyone should get their butts out there and flip that lever. I mean, I do believe that, so hey! I'll say it!

But I'm mostly encouraging you all to go vote so that I can get these goddamn political ads off my fucking TV and get back to CSI.

I'm not a particularly good voter. I abstained from the election of 2000. I voted by absentee in the election of 2004 instead of registering in the Great Swing State of Ohio. I'm mostly lazy.

But I'm sitting here reading up on these issues (having finally looked up my precinct online) and these fucking candidates who I fucking hate so fucking much from their fucking TV ads on my fucking TV.

If I could go out there and register a vote AGAINST each and every one of these assholes, I think I'd do it just on principle.

Mainly, the only reason I'm going to vote at all is the potential smoking ban.

Anyway, be a good person and stuff, and vote. Mostly just vote. Vote the fuck out of tomorrow. Don't let this go on any longer than it should.

...Gods and angels, I SUCK at motivational speeches.

See my rant on the election.

I've already had at least three campaign phone calls today at my house. Suck.

Hooray for only having an out-of-state cell phone, I think.

They're not calling my cell phone, thankfully, but I've been at home all day and they are calling my land line. It's so annoying.

Most cell phones are still unlisted, thank goodness. That's really the main reason I don't have a land line.

I know how you feel about wanting to vote AGAINST the candidates. I have the great pleasure of having to issues I really care about. On one I am completely conservative. On the other, completely liberal. There's never candidates for anything that I /like/.

Sigh. And I will vote if I can find my voter card. I registered with a new address so it'll be my first time voting at this place so I apparently need my card and I can't find it ;_;

That's what I don't understand about the party system today - what if I want fiscal responsibility AND I'm pro-choice? Or what if I'm pro-life and pro-gay-marriage? Or ...*runs out of issues* you get it.

It's like I want to vote "no" on all of them just to send a message to the government. But I am bitter and cynical like that.

Yeah, I'm the second one. Completely adamantly pro-life, and completely adamantly "non-heterosexual people are not second-class citizens." I'm also mostly libertarian. Haha, so there you go. I never have a clue who to vote for (mostly for the pro-life, pro-gay-marriage though; those are my two issues I care passionately about). I'm not sure if you know Santorum, but... he's running and while I really am like "YAY PRO-LIFE SANTORUM" I'm also like "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU WOULD SAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY" (like, seriously, look him up if you don't know him. He's really.. extreme, let's just say) and I would really hate his opponent winning. And it doesn't sit right to not vote, though I might have to not vote because I'm an idiot and lost my card. Dammit.

I keep changing my party too. Independent, democrat, republican. I can never make up my mind which one I want to be. XD; I'd do independent if not for the whole independents are second-class voters thing. Sigh!

Haha, well you could write in someone. "Rydia for Governor! Cecil for the Senate!" XD

RYDIA FOR GOVERNOR I JUST DIED LAUGHING.

Although Jeff keeps trying to convince me to write in LeBron James.

Santorum is a really, really strange one. We got some of that over here in Ohio to watch. Although most of our publicity is still stuck on CoinGate. Like, WTF?

I wish there were a way to vote separately on the issues and the people, y'know?

Yeah, that'd be really nice. Vote on the issues, then find someone who believes in all of those things. XD

And hey! Rydia'd make a GREAT GOVERNOR.

Or like ...MAKE one. Like a ROBOT. Who'd be all, "I AM PRO GAY MARRIAGE AND PRO LIFE!" *votes*

See? Robots are the answer to everything.

God bless the absentee ballot, even though for the life of me I can't figure out why I still qualify to vote for Virginia when I haven't lived there for the last five years.

But hey, if I can do my part to not ban gay marriages in my home state this season, aye aye!

On the side note, I got junk mail telling me how to vote from BOTH the Pubs and the Dems this year; apparently my "I vote by candidate, not by party" method has managed to confuse them both thoroughly as to which camp I should be sitting in.

... which is, of course, why I voted Green this year, much to the chagrin of my dad. :)

Hee. My conclusion after reading about all the candidates is, sadly, that I hate them all. If only I HAD a party - then I could vote by party, and not have to decide who is the lesser of two douchebags.

on another note i haven't forgotten about HNtDB; i'm just nano-ing
