Oh, F-List. I am never going to catch up with you.

Leave me a comment and let me know how you are! ♥

More on the trip in a bit.

I managed to dodge jury duty twice in college because I was summoned by New York but lived in OH for college. Apparently that is legit! WHO KNEW.

One thing I'll say about California: you guys have a very bizarre climate! (Or bizarre to an Eastern Yank like me.) I've never been anywhere where there are 35-degree temperature swings in a single day. Amazing!

Yeah, that definitely takes some getting used to. Also the fact that you can lose or gain 20 degrees by driving 20 miles -- we call them microclimates, and the differences can be drastic. It took me years of California living to learn that it doesn't matter what time of year it is, or how nice it is at home, you always, *always* take a jacket. Especially if you're going to be out after dark. Now I've been here long enough that I have more of a problem remembering that I *don't* need to take a sweater when I go to the East Coast in summer...

Actually, that was the other funny thing. Jeff and I rented a PT Cruiser convertible and drove Route 1 from San Francisco up the coast ... and I swear every 20 min we were putting the windows up, then down, then up again, then down, then up and I had to put my sweater on. It's unbelievable! The car had a thermometer and we watched it go from 95 to 65 and then back in about a 30min drive. WOW, says my poor sheltered Ohio brain. WOW.

And then we get to wine country, where it was seriously 107 in the afternoon (according to the car) and 62 at night!

YOUR STATE IS BANANAS XD

It is whack. No doubt about it. Then again, it's almost never too hot to sleep at night, and it's almost always possible to escape heat or cold if you really want to. So there are trade-offs. :) I've gotten so spoiled, I don't know if I can ever live in a place with real weather again...

It's also much more scenic out there than it is here!

Yeah, we came home and it was warmer here -- and more humid. Jeff isn't a hot-humidity fan, and about 15 minutes after we'd landed he was already griping about missing the Cali weather. XD
