Totally, why not. I needed a bit more excitement in my life. XD

Also, since I didn't comment on Chrono Trigger news yet...I really need to get a DS.

Between the FF Advance games, FFIV DS, and now Crono Trigger, I'll pretty much die happy with my DS. (Can you tell what my gaming genre is? ;) )

I pretty much play the same games. Nothing wrong with an RPG/Square addiction! :)

I remember having to drag out emulators to play them because there was no sign of a current US release. How times have changed!

I know! I've been playing FFV Advance, and it's almost like a totally different game. The emulator version I played ten years ago was pretty much terrible, and this version is awesome!

...you realize I renamed him "Butts" in my DS game.

There's really that much of a difference? I'd heard the DS version was good, but I'm glad to hear that it's blowing the original version out of the water, as it well SHOULD.

Because that version was pretty bad.

Well, I think so, anyway. The characters actually have personalities that you care about, and the story has more of a narrative and makes sense and is interesting and intriguing! Also the game is hard as hell.

Whereas on the emulator, the characters all kind of sounded like each other, and I had no idea what in blazes was going on.

Good to know. I might look into some of these updated versions. A few of them really interest me. Especially the one of III, which gives them actual names and histories and such.

I may have to give this a try. One day. ^^

Hah. VI Advance actually names the "classes" of each character, and some are kind of funny. As in, not what I would have thought. Terra's is something like "Magitek Elite", which is accurate I guess but not really totally descriptive. XD

Interesting. I tend to get way to much into the various class-type things. Magitek Elite, hmmm. I like it.

Any other interesting factoids found in these new versions? Besides accurate translations?

I've only played the first half of FFVI Advance, so I don't have much information. The dialogue is definitely different, though, so it keeps it interesting (not so much like you're playing the old game over again; there's always something new). Some of the Summons have new names, too, which is kind of odd.

Like how did they get new names? It's been ages since I played...but weren't there Shiva/Odin/Bahamut...y'know, the usual summon names in there?

Tritoch became Valigarmanda or something equally ridiculous, Bismark became something I can't remember, etc. And Madonna became Madeline, for some reason. It was just strange, the way they changed some things and not others?
