1. I like her because she reminds me a lot of myself, and I don't mean that in an arrogant way: her strengths AND weaknesses are both something I relate to on a really deep and intuitively nerdy level. Also, she's a BAMF with an insecurity complex: that's hot.

2. My favorite line of hers isn't a line at all, it is when she takes the machine gun and fucks up that spider-machine shit in Dollet. PERIOD.

3. She is in fact ridiculously hot in her SeeD uniform.

4. OTP? Um, don't really have one... In no order at all the top candidates are: Quistis/Rinoa, Quistis/Irvine, Quistis/Seifer, Quistis/Laguna WHAT

5. A wish: that she'd gotten more exploration in the game, obviously. I still maintain that FF8 had so much character potential that got abandoned. I really would have liked to see a peek into her past: her adoptive family, her early years at Garden, even just more development in the game itself. She kind of is important at the beginning and then falls away by disc 2.

6. Any kind of FF8 expansion where she's still pining after Squall. (It's okay though because they'll probably never return to FF8 anyway.)

7. Leader; perfectionist; insecure; observant; intelligent.

8. I actually like just calling her "Q" in fanfic, as cheesy as it is >.>

I always wanted more character development for the rest of the party - they all seem like such cool people but with Squall as your protagonist, it's not like he personally takes much interest in them LMAO

But I guess the only good thing about that is that it leaves a lot to explore fic-wise :)

I actually had an interesting discussion with notraffic in which I realized that part of the reason I like FFVIII so much was because the character development was good in places and then absolute shit in others, and it gives me a lot of room to play with. Like, I think FFVI was actually a "better game" and yet I never write for it, because so much of it feels complete. With VIII, I always feel like there's something to say? DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE

It totes makes sense. I think one of the reasons the FFVIII fandom is still going (relatively) strong after all these years is because they left SO MUCH CRAP unexplored, thus providing a fuckton of potential for fannish works.
