I took this from [personal profile] owlmoose because it looks interesting:

Pick a character I write, and I will give you the top five ideas/concepts/other I keep in mind while writing that character that I believe are essential to depicting them accurately.

1. Reno isn't stupid. He's easily bored and a little silly, but he is not an idiot. In fact, there's a method to his madness, and it works really well for him.

2. Reno gives himself a point in his head any time he can get Rude, Elena, or Tseng to react to something stupid that he says.

3. Reno is a GD Turk. No matter if he's being a sillyhead, he could still kill you with his pinky. It's called elite competence.

4. Reno uses any and all weapons at his disposal, and that definitely includes flirting.

5. Reno still has a moral code (in fact, all the Turks do). He just happens to come across a lot of assholes who really do deserve to get shot.

I think you know precisely who I'd mention. :) But to avoid getting a taste of my own medicine with a smart response, Rosa from FF4!

Oh, and: the Turks are his family. End of story.

1. She thinks and sees a good deal more than she ever says out loud.

2. She's known for a while that Cecil might be King. She knew that if she married him, she'd be marrying Baron too. She's come to terms with that, and she's willing to be Queen, but every now and then she daydreams about running away with him to the mountains.

3. She chooses her fights. Always. She has realized she doesn't have to look strong all the time; she simply has to be strong when it counts. She keeps most of her iron will hidden for this very reason.

4. Her first love has always been and will always be her White Magic. It colors everything she does.

5. She actually has a very sly sense of humor, but she prefers to keep it a secret, because she likes surprising people. (It's one of Rydia's favorite things about her.)

Feels accurate to me too. :) As you know I always felt there was a lot more to Rosa's character than most people see in her, and I think what you said captures all of it well. Thanks for answering!

LOL, I did Irvine over on my DW!

SO HOW ABOUT THAT GUY

1. He's quiet as hell, so it's typical to get to the end of a scene and suddenly notice he's there

2. CREEPERSHARK

3. He will happily sit and stare at your tits forever

4. He laughs at what you say but he doesn't actually think you're funny. It's ok, though, he's not funny either.

5. When his friends leave, he's going to sit and pretend he's part of the group. BUT HE'S NOT.

1. She isn't actually an Ice Queen, no matter what fandom thinks.

2. But she isn't exactly great with emotional responses either, because she's spent so much time trying to beat them out of herself. So sometimes she goes overboard compensating.

3. She can't decide whether she's brilliant or a failure. And there is NO in-between.

4. Nothing she does is ever good enough, even when it is.

5. She's been conditioned to do things on her own and by herself. The group of "people she trusts" is a small one, and "people she'd ask for help" is even smaller.

I think I agree with all five of those points. Well said.
