First things first, I stole this writing meme from [livejournal.com profile] lassarina.

1) Keyboard or biro?
Very much keyboard only. I've been known to scribble ideas but I prefer to keep them on a computer.

2) Beta or no beta?
No beta! Not being arrogant, but I think my grammar is mostly acceptable. What I'm more likely to do is post a story and ask for specific feedback.

3) Title?
I usually pick something from the story. Whatever word I've used the most often that isn't "the" or "said".

4) Smushy or smutty?
Neither, hee. I veer away from mushy romance because I always end up writing sarcastic snark instead. And I am just diving into smut.

5) Summary?
I usually present a question, in the desperate hope that it will make a reader curious.

6) Funniest fic?
I had this great FFIV Parody Script-Fic that I lost in ff.net's DeleteGate. I thought it was hilarious.

7) Most popular fic?
"Sincerity Cowboy". I'm simultaneously proud and ashamed of it.

8) Most Fun to Write?
Anything with twisted magic, sorcery and/or sorceresses, or Rydia.

9) Best and Worst?
I think some of the best things I've written were pieces of the "Warming Up" series. The worst stuff is from my youth, like "Dark Knowledge", all stuff that's not posted.

10) Coulda Been Contenders?
"Shine Like Gold", if I can ever finish the damn thing, should be pretty good (if a little boring, to me). "Out of the Mist" had potential, but I ruined it on review-glee, methinks. "Dark Knowledge" will eventually be awesome if I can pick my fellow FFIV / FFVI fans's brains.

11) Strengths?
Spelling, Grammar, Syntax (raised by an English teacher! Can't help it!). Being Very Anal about Plot Details and Plot Holes and the Lack Thereof.

12) Weaknesses?
Characterization of any character I don't feel like I'm a part of (i.e. MEN). It is hard! I end up making them all snarky, sarcastic bastards.

13) Dirty little secrets?
I use Wikipedia for details. And GameFAQs. And game scripts. Told you I'm anal.

Secondly, I think I just got screwed on fantasy football. Somebody picked up Chad Pennington before me, and I wanted him liek woah. Now I'm eyeing Byron Leftwich. Somebody suggest a good fantasy QB that probably hasn't been snagged yet? (I'm also watching Smith. Who's better?)

---

Thirdly, I need to write! I have a new Quistis/Zell collab with [livejournal.com profile] rosencrantz, the FFIV HS AU with [livejournal.com profile] lassarina and [livejournal.com profile] katmillia, and I'm STILL FINISHING MANLY REQUEST WEEK. And that doesn't involve all the claims I haven't touched! Squee, work. Go away!

A lot of people think Rex Grossman is going to have a great year. I don't, but if you are desperate...

Somebody already has him, le sigh.

The guy that picked up Pennington dropped Delhomme to do it. Delhomme could potentially have a good year, but I need to wait on Steve Smith. And in the interim, I could use someone better than Plummer/Culpepper.

From: [identity profile] hilldo.livejournal.com
I'd say pick up Delhomme just cause I think he is better than how he's played, but you are right without Steve Smith he is about as good as your other crappy quarterbacks.

I guess Alex Smith wouldn't be bad either since antonio bryant is tearing it up, or if you are truly insane Mark Brunell. ;) He has 3 great receivers but their offense is really bad. Should get better with clinton portis coming back this week though.

I've got Culpepper and Plummer, two QBs who should be better than how they've currently played. I can't really afford to sit on a third and wait!

I thought about snagging him before anyone else does and just sitting on the guy until he gets better. But that doesn't solve the problem of me sitting on QBs and waiting. And there's no real reason to have 4 QBs on my roster, really.

Yes I know who you have cause we had this conversation last week about who to start. If Culpepper keeps sucking for 2 more weeks he may not even be the starter in miami anymore since they have Joey Harrington.
Next year we'll have to invite you and jeff into our fantasy league! Unless you two want to be on the invite list of death that basically gets you invited to every damn fantasy sports league ever (premier league scocer? wtf!)

(Yes, I know, I just like repeating that I have Culpepper and Plummer, basically because i don't know how I got screwed so badly!! Although the rest of my team rocks nuts, so that makes up for it.)

Who's going to get booted first then, Culpepper for Harrington or Plummer for Cutler??

We'll have to wait and see, really. I'm not sure we're good enough / care enough to do a real league. Plus having to root for Miami is totally ruining my football season!!!

I don't think Plummer is going to lose the starting job this year so if anyone Culpepper. I mean, wasn't Denver in the AFC title game with him last year? People like to point out how much Culpepper he has sucked except when he had Randy Moss. Perhaps it is true.

You don't have to root for miami, just culpepper. hehe.

Everybody predicted Culpepper to have such a good year this year, too. WTF. At least he is scoring me positive points, as of right now Plummer's at -5.

Plummer got ripped off last game cause I guses the wind in KC was bad. Can't throw in that. Culpepper gets tennessee this week so if he can't move the ball on them well he just sucks.

From: [identity profile] first-seventhe.livejournal.com
Exactly, this is his last week to prove himself. hell, I could rack up 10 points against KC.

I bet you could. Can you even throw a football? I have never seen you do anything athletic, except for wrestle.

From: [identity profile] first-seventhe.livejournal.com
Sure I can throw one. I can't throw it right, but that doesn't mean anything!

I used to be a swimmer and a runner. And a wrestler.

So you picked all the sports that would help you survive if you were a cavewoman. Way to go. :)

Cause football is so useful!!

From: [identity profile] hilldo.livejournal.com
I did not say it was useful. Any sport that has more than one rule probably isn't!

Srsly. We have, however, found the best place ever to watch Monday night football, if you're ever interested.

From: [identity profile] hilldo.livejournal.com
Where is that?

And unfortunately monday night football is on opposite csi miami. :O hehe.

It's the Dorm, actually. On Mondays they have this bartender who will order you pizza and basically give you all the Labatt's you can drink for like, $4, because he's bored.

From: [identity profile] hilldo.livejournal.com
sounds good when you have a 2 minute walk to get there. :O Perhaps some monday I will join you two fine individuals.

Sorry didn't want to live in an apartment, especially with other people that have smelly cats!

Then you should totally drive farther. I am telling you this is the coolest bartender of all time!

By the way, have you checked out [livejournal.com profile] aheadonourway? You could claim sorceresses. Or magic. Or Summoners.

From: [identity profile] first-seventhe.livejournal.com
I tried, sadly! I wanted to claim Mages/Magic/Sorceresses in some form. (I think I requested the claim in terms of people, but added on that I totally wanted to claim Magic if it wasn't too general.)

But I have heard nothing back!

It is sad, but at the same time maybe it will let me get a handle on some other claims before I end up with this one.
