CG, I read your comments ... you're really good at this, thanks a bunch! I appreciate your help; I don't like analyzing my own dreams because I think that's kind of "cheating". I guess I need to look things over and see what I'm scared of losing.

Analysing your own dreams isn't cheating at all. That's how the big names got their theories to begin with.

In addition to the excellent analysis you've already gotten, I'd like to mention that there might be an blanket theme of helplessness (possibly helplessness in the face of change), and that the band might be symbolic of something important (not necessarily itself). The preventative measures in the second dream might be something to do with taking back control.

I know nothing about dream analysis so I won't even try to guess at the meaning. I can still remember a few nightmares I have had pretty clearly...one of them was particularly disturbing but never bothered trying to interpret them.

Regardless I know I've only seen you in person a handful of times but I can't picture you having a panic attack. Still I hope you don't have the dream again cause you are far too nice to go through that sort of thing for a third day. Have dreams about tping mine (or Jeff's) car or manlove or something, just not that!

^_^ oh, yes, I sing. :D I used to be the vocal part in a Renaissance troupe (the Jovial Beggars), before that I was one of a quartet (Stone Soup), and before that I did more than my fair share of open mic nights, folk/rock, and assorted singing for other musicians in coffeehouses and bars. <3 I miss performing a lot, but it really took a toll on me when I was working fulltime and the rehearsals were on every one of my days off--and that wasn't counting the time I needed to take off to travel to gigs. :( I still fill in for friends from time to time, usually doing Billy Bragg and Indigo Girls and the occasional wacky arrangement of "Black Boys on Mopeds".

And no problem. I used to do stuff like this all the time. My stance has always been that there is no mystical thing about dreams; they're a way for your subconscious mind to communicate with your conscious mind, and only you can really decide what the symbols mean. :) I just draw on my experience and point out that certain elements must be important to you because you bring them up. I hope you glean something useful from it! <3

OH and ovo_lexa brings up some great points, too--the band could possibly be a symbol for something else entirely. Again, only you can ultimately work out what the symbols are. And don't be shocked if they mean multiple things; you may uncover more than one problem/issue by working through the same set of images.

I had a recurring dream that I was getting chased and shot at in the ghetto. I don't think it meant anything, except that my car did get hit by a falling bullet on New Year's Eve. Nevertheless, I don't really think dreams mean anything.

I usually look at dreams only for amusement's sake, it was just the fact that I woke up so damn scared that really threw me for a loop. ^^

I wouldn't be able to stop you since last night I dreamed I was being robbed and I caught the people but couldn't find the phone number for the police and 911 kept calling california or something.

dreams are stupid. :)
