In the English version, he was. I've seen both translations for the Japanese.

Strange how if I'm up in the air, and the enemy casts a spell like say umm, Meteor Shower, that I still will not be affected cause we all know meteors don't come from the sky!

You cannot hide from meteors. Thats like hiding from, an earthquake. IT FINDS YOU! Unless you are jumping, of course. ;)

If it weren't for these things final fantasy would be completely and totally realistic, since everything else in the game could happen in real life. :O

Hahaha! I was playing FFIX and on Kuja's final form and all of my party members were dead except for Freya, who was in the air on a dragoon attack, and she'd be dead on the next hit. I was just about to hit the reset button, but I decided I'd wait until Freya came down. She hit Kuja...and he DIED!!!!!111one w00t, Freya, savior of game files!

WOW THAT'S EXTREMELY LUCKY.

I remember dying like 80000 times on that last battle. I didn't enjoy FFIX as much so I didn't level as much, and I paid for it.

Speaking of "most awesome thing of awesomeness", I can't get over the logical explanations of magic spells. Death working by congealing the blood is rather gruesome, and I love it.
