You know, this also reminds me of the book I was just reading, Saturday, which I pretty much loathed. It's about a day in an ordinary guy's life that doesn't go quite as usual. But there are like three unusual events and the rest is all usual, and the stuff that's exciting is strangled by all the boring, boring rambling that goes on before it. It's like -- hey, there's a life you could beta.

In my novel, I'm also editing in the fact that polygamy is legal as long as it's me. So I can be married to Orlando Bloom AND Skandar (the kid who plays Edmund) AND Tom Felton AND Sean Biggerstaff at the same time. And it's a-okay. And clearly they all love me so much that they don't care.
