Well, because I am that awesome person who opens memes and then goes on vacation and abandons them, here you are! This should be blamed on / credited to bottle_of_shine, who has been tempting me with "Seifer/Irvine porn in space" for so long I think I might actually explode.

I already have 4000 words written and...yeah, not even going to finish what I have planned by the 30th. But I'll be happy to post whatever I do get done.

I'm doing FFX in space. I wrote myself a plot summary that sounds far more epic than I am capable of. And it's totally a Battlestar Galactica ripoff, but whatever. This is all subject to change as I actually write ;)

1000 years ago, the planet Spira was destroyed by an unknown force. The spaceship Spira One was able to evacuate several thousand people before the planet was destroyed, and the descendants in the present are still traveling through space in search of a new home. The promised land for the long-suffering inhabitants on board - a home called Zanarkand.

The spaceship was programmed with coordinates to a new planet 1000 years ago, and leadership of the survivors and their descendants has been passed down through dozens of generations. The original captain of Spira One, Yevon, programmed the ship and few are willing to tamper with or change the coordinates.

A splinter group amongst the survivors, the Albedo, want to change the coordinates since over the past several years, Spira One has passed by livable planets and kept going instead of settling. Civil war might break out on the ship amongst the practical Albedo and the faithful majority. When a young man is discovered during a fuel stop on yet another livable planet, Spira One's crew is shocked when he claims to be from Spira...1000 years in the past.

...and when he claims to know the true path to Zanarkand.

I officially stake my claim to Paine and Nooj on the run from Yevon -- in space. Probably somehow involving the Crimson Squad. I haven't really worked out the details yet. But I will make this work somehow. Yes I will.

Main idea: FFVIII, the Gardens are intergalactic space stations for hire which travel through uncharted space, exploring new planets and laying claims for their benefactors. SeeD is Garden's elite mercenary force, a team of explorers who explore the new planets and obtain access to new resources. Squall Leonhart is the Commander of the Ragnarok, which has been sent to a new system of unknown planets to investigate some strange magical impulses a mysterious unknown client has noticed.

Squall and Zell man the ship while Squall's two best teams investigate. Quistis and Selphie secure a landing spot and explore a ruined town while Seifer and Irvine secretly head north to the source of all the interference.

... Palom and Porom do their game-hopping idea I had. NO REALLY LISTEN TO THIS:

The blue planet had been held in check by a series of 3 energy/gravitational fields: the planet and the sun, the moons and the planet, and the moons to each other. With the second moon with the Lunarians aboard it leaving the gravitational pull, it's off-set the balance of 2 out of the 3 energies. This is resulting in increased monsters down on the blue planet, because the energies kept a majority of them in check, and also in magical fields becoming distorted. This isn't so much of a problem for normal black/white mages, because their energy still draws from the energy of the blue planet itself and nothing else. The problem is that with any magic dealing outside of the blue planet's energy- namely Meteor and Palom and Porom's twin magic (think comet). This causes the magic they use to richochet like a rubber band when used, casting them across the energies/space into other worlds beyond the blue planet's own gravitational pull.

OMG I JUST MADE THAT SOUND TOTALLY DO-ABLE. THIS IS TOTALLY MY MOTHER FREAKING CLAIM.

NOW I am torn between Balthier and Vaan cooing over spaceships (... I could SO fit that into ACTUAL CANON as in Draklor = SEKRITLY USING BAHAMUT TECH to make a SPACESHIP and Balthier stealing it for the shinies and because really, only one person could be trusted to appreciate it and Vaan insists that if Balthier gets the spaceship, he gets the Strahl. And there are epic arguments and ship stealing and porn etc.)

and Baralai/Gippal in space (which might involve Gippal trying to build a spaceship, or Gippal not being allowed to DRIVE the spaceship because he is crazy and not to be trusted in control of it, especially when he's cooing over the controls or checking out Baralai's ass while he's navigating, or EPIC SPACE PIRACY and ship-fanboying and. And. Basically Gippal in space would be for the machine-loving win. And then Baralai would be either navigator or I dunno, leader of these SPACE POLICE people despite being a sort-of criminal when he was younger and Gippal recognises him and tries to entice him back to his space-pirating ways? I dunno.)

and Balthier/Gippal which I promised Nay ages ago (and would be a relationship based on "I'm in love with you ship." "I'm afraid she's spoken for." "... Are you?" "... Not at the moment." and then, I dunno. Sex against the engine followed by mutual ship stealing? And then foiling each other's plans and meeting up to fanboy over ships and Gippal introducing Rikku to the Strahl and her deciding to MAKE IT BETTER and it would be epic.)

I was going to ask bottle_of_shine to pick for me, but I think she'd just say "ALL of them!" which uh, doesn't help. *headdesks*
