Right now I have 533 unread emails in my Sev Inbox, and another 200 or so in my [realname] Inbox. My email situation is a mess and has been since lab, earlier this year, when I completely lost any kind of timely control over anything (and once it was already a disaster, I had zero fucks to give about organizing it).

As of 2012, I am declaring email amnesty. I want to start out with a blank slate. So I'm just gonna mass mark everything as read and go from there.

So! If you're waiting for a response for me, or you sent me something important I have ignored because my inbox is a disaster, please do a girl a favor and either re-send it or tell me what search thread I should use in my Inbox for SURPRISES.

Well, it's helpful for days my Inbox fills up and I go, "I haven't heard from Rina in a few hours," and then realize it's because I never replied since your email got buried. Lo! Rina tag! XD

XD XD XD I have been working toward having Inbox Zero on my Gmail (I'm down under 100! Half of that is stuff I bookmarked to read from the kiss meme!) but it is sloooooow going at the end, not gonna lie.

I just need a better labeling system, too. Part of what messed me up was my phone - the Blackberry's interface was great for responding to things but not so much to organizing them, and I'm hoping that moving forward with a smartphone that actually works like a smartphone helps me keep track of stuff better and therefore avoids some of the awful shit clutter.

Yeah. I find that Mail on iDevices is not super fantastic for organizing things, but since I flit between Mail and the web interface for Gmail pretty much at whim, I haven't found that to be too difficult on the email I actually use (i.e. my Rina email.) The Gmail app on my Droid is pretty good and I'm hoping the Gmail app for iOS shapes up pretty quickly.

Yeah, I could be better at organizing during the day when I only have phone. But then again, phone.

Yeah. Organizing on the phone is balls. I usually have a go at it when I get back to my desk, and spend 10 minutes once I'm home for the night.
