Awesome:
1. Edge would give Kain a much-needed smack and a "get over yourself". Kain would do the same for Edge, once he got over himself.
2. Just think: EBLAN'S SECRET DRAGOON NINJA FORCE. Would you mess with that? I think not

Not-as-awesome:
Edge's arrogance and Kain's emo-y self-centeredness would make for a really boring relationship if they didn't hit it off.

Two ways to write it:
1. Kain stays in Eblan because he can't go back to Baron.
2. With Rydia in the middle (or on one side)

1. The things they'd do to make an impression on one another. oh god, the hilarity. Basically. That is all. This pairing is endless comedic gold.

Awesome:
1. Just think how smoking hot the sex would be after a really good raid.
2. Trust is implicit.
3. You know they've at least thought about it.
4. You know it's happened (or almost happened) at least once.
5. Both have had to become another person in a different world.
6. Both have pasts they've turned their backs on.
7. They're both totally hot people.
8. Balthier lightens Fran; Fran focuses Balthier.

Not-As-Awesome:
1. They're both running - or maybe avoiding - what they were born to/as (note: this is also a plus, but it throws difficulties into any relationship)
2. Can you see them having a lover's-quarrel? I sure as fuck can't
