Disastrous? So far all the sex in HNTDB as been utterly hilarious, and sex is utterly hilarious (and it's bound to be even more so with Zell involved) and ergo all of the sex in HNTDB has been awesome.

Can you imagine what it'd be like if Steiner and Beatrix ever got it on? I think their first encounter would mostly involve her laughing at him and asking if he knows where everything goes.

"Super romantic sex" makes me giggle; I always feel like it should be accompanied by string quartets and SUPER PRINCESS SPARKLZ. I seriously can't picture Quistis/Zell (or, in fact, any of the FFVIII crowd, because wtfbbq they behave like they're twelve years old) sex without it involving one (or both) participants getting confused/stuck/impaled/laughed at. Hilarious sex is always sexier than THROBBING LOVE SPEARS.

I have nothing wrong with "perfect" sex in the context of a PWP or something (I mean, video pornography isn't exactly realistic, either!) when you really just want to get a little turned on or whatever. But in the context of a longer fiction, especially one involving a terribly awkward character like Quistis or a ridiculous one like Zell, there's no fucking way. XD

I'm so rooting for more Captains because hell, Quistis + Pirates is basically Nirvana for me and also CRACK THAT WORKS IS TASTY CRACK. ALso, HNTDB basically got me through my A Levels so I'll be needing a lot more of that once I go away in October.

I'm throwing into the pot with the people who feel absolutely ridiculous/pointless cause they CHECKED EVERYTHING.

The only things I didn't check were "I want to see more FFX/X-2/XII" simply because I never got around to playing those and, until I do, won't bother reading much fic for them. Also, I didn't check any of the "suggest something!" boxes cause I'm lazy, and other people suggest more than enough for me as is. XD

I marked "other" for the skimming question because you mostly write for games I haven't played (FF4, FF6) or don't know very well (FF7, to a certain extent FF8), and I am less likely to read stories about characters I'm not familiar with. I tend not to care about genre so much -- if a writer I like writes a story in a canon I know, I will give it a shot, regardless of pairing/genre/whatever.

But even when I don't know the canon, it's still a lot of fun to see you take something and run with it in a stream of comment fics. And despite not being as familiar with FF8 canon as with some of the others, I will never turn down a pirate AU story. ;)

It gets worse: I actually have FFVI in my house (the PS port) and haven't played more than the first hour or so (we were dumb and started with FFV instead). For years I've been meaning to get back to it, but I kept putting it off and now I think I'm going to hold out for the DS version.

FFIV for the DS is definitely on my to-do list!

Well, random advice: if you're going to play FFV, definitely get the Advance version. I played it on emulator and on PS, and thought it was the dullest story ever. The Advance version is spectacular. It's quickly becoming one of my favorites to play.

I have heard that the Advance translations are much better for these early FF games. Unfortunately, I can't play GBA games -- pressing those little buttons is murder on my hands. So I'll have to wait and see if they ever release it for DS (the stylus works much better for me). They are planning on doing all the earlier games for DS, I hope?
