So Open Office's Calc, while neat and free, doesn't solve anything past linear equations - not by Solver, or by graphical regression (really? I can't fit a polynomial??)
Guess I'm back to EXCEL tomorrow. Sorry, world, I tried to have a hate-on for MSOffice, but I'm an engineer: I like things that do what I need them to.

Date: 2009-09-21 04:23 pm (UTC)Backpedaling, I tried to use OO exclusively for awhile- word processing, if you stick to the very basic formatting, is fine. But Hyne help you if you want to do something "fancy" like WRAP TEXT AROUND A FUCKING IMAGE OR SOMETHING OR BULLET POINTS WITHOUT RIDICULOUS SPACE ISSUES. And ppts NEVER look right on computers with pptview or msoffice, and Excel sheets get wonky, and...
Yea, so I totally don't blame you for sticking with MSOffice. I went back to MSOffice 2003 myself (I hate the newest version, and that's a whole other kettle of fish and this comment is already too damn long).

Date: 2009-09-21 04:56 pm (UTC)Why try to have a hate on for MSOffice, though, if you don't mind me asking?
I know people tend to either love or hate Office - and that goes for both old & new versions. I'm just curious what your reasons are.
